Greetings,

We had 83 boats Sunday on Wedowee.   The list of winners is at the bottom of the pounds page.  Along with cash winnings, our sponsor, Deep South Rods, donated 2 rods which were given away, also.

Please, remember, you must get your boat # card from me the morning of the tournament.  If you don't pick up your card and check in with me, you will not get credit for fishing that tournament.

Thanks to Roger Grizzard for doing the blast-off and Glen Goodson for helping keep up with the weights.

The Classic is only 2 tournaments away and if you don't have at least 8 tournaments fished you won't be eligible to fish.  There will be no subs for the Classic and the team names I have listed will be the only ones allowed to fish.

If you leave early from the tournament, I would appreciate it if you would put your boat # card on the windshield of mine or Rickey's truck.  It would help make the weigh in go faster and we wouldn't have to wonder if you've gone or broken down on the water.  Thank you, Jarred Barner and Chapman & Chapman for leaving your card on the windshield.  We didn't have to worry if you had broken down on the lake.  Also, when you're taking out, leaving or just standing around watching the weigh in, if you don't have any fish, give me a shout and let me know.

To get to Lay Lake, from LaGrange, go to Roanoke and take Hwy 22 West to Alexander City.  There, take Hwy 280 West.  Go through Sylacauga and Childersburg.  When you cross the Coosa river in Childersburg, take a left on Hwy 76.  Go about 6 miles and Hwy 76 runs into Co. Rd. 25.  Take a left and go (about 5 mi.) till you cross Beeswax Creek bridge and then less than a mile you will see Co. Rd. 28.  Take a left there on Co. Rd. 28 and go till you see the Paradise Point Marina signs on your right.

For those of you who would rather use MapQuest for your directions, the address is:  Paradise Point Marina, 231 Paradise Point Drive, Columbiana, AL. 35051

The BEESWAX GROCERY will be serving hot biscuits starting at 5 am EST. Sunday before the tournament. You need to stop and get a few for breakfast. They will be serving ham, thick porkchop and link sausage and more. Its about a mile before you turn to Paradise Point marina.

Our next tournament will be on Lay Lake, Sept 21.  We will launch at Paradise Point Marina.  I had told some of you that signed up early that the launch fee was $3.00 and it is actually $4.00.  If you guys would bring that other dollar I would appreciate it.  Anyone who signs up at the ramp or pays early will have to pay $54.00.  We had to go ahead and pay $150.00 up front for launch fees and will have to pay the difference after the tournament.    Make sure you're there early, both for a parking spot and blast off.  We will blast off as soon as possible.  Please make sure you flash your lights, wave your hat or give some sort of acknowledgment to the person calling out boat numbers when your number is called.  If you miss your number you will have to wait until the end of that particular flight to take off.  Please do not leave until your number is called.

This is next to the ramp.
